Temecula news headline from the Riverside Sheriff’s Department:
On August 20, from 800 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., officers from the City of Temecula Police Department conducted a court sting operation at the Southwest Justice Center. This operation focused on people who attempted to drive away from court after having their driving privileges suspended or revoked in court.
Officers in plainclothes monitored the court proceedings at the Southwest Justice Center. People whose driving privileges were suspended or revoked during court proceedings were followed out to the parking lot. If they had another licensed driver to drive them away, or those who left their cars safely parked in the parking lot, left without further consequence.
Two people who drove away from the Southwest Justice Center with suspended or revoked driver licenses were stopped by uniformed traffic officers and issued citations for driving on a suspended driver’s license. In addition, the cars these subjects were driving were towed at the owner’s expense and will be held for up to 30 days.
Funding for this operation was provided by the California Office of Traffic Safety and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
