Redlands Firefighters responded to separate structure fires over the weekend.
At about 8:30 p.m. Saturday, August, 28, firefighters responded to a structure fire in the 600 block of North Dearborn Street. Upon arrival, units found the fire located in a bedroom (pictured) of a double-wide mobile home.
Redlands Police evacuated the female homeowner and a pet. No one was injured.
Aggressive work by the firefighters contained the blaze to the room of origin. Damage is estimated at $25,000. An electrical malfunction in the rear of the structure was determined to be the cause of the fire.
At about 1:30 p.m. Sunday, August, 29, firefighters responded to a structure fire at a single-family residence in the 900 block of Fulbright Avenue. Paramedics were the first on scene and found the home’s attached garage fully involved.
The fire had spread into the house by the time firefighters were able to enter the structure. It took firefighters about a half hour to extinguish the blaze. Mop up and investigation took an additional two and a half hours.
No one was injured in the blaze. Damage was estimated at approximately $200,000 for the structure and contents.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
