News headline from the Redlands Police Department:
The Redlands Police Department will conduct a grant-funded sobriety and driver’s license checkpoint beginning at 10:00 p.m. Friday, August 27, until 3:00 a.m., Saturday in the northbound lane of Orange Street, south of Pearl Avenue.
Officers will screen drivers passing through the checkpoint for sobriety and for a valid driver’s license. Drivers found to be under the influence of alcohol or other drugs will be arrested, and unlicensed drivers may be cited and their vehicles may be impounded.
The Redlands Police Department will also conduct DUI “Avoid the 25″ Saturation Patrols beginning at 10 p.m. Saturday, August 28, through 3:00 a.m. to Sunday August 29.
A grant-funded DUI checkpoint and saturation patrols resulted in five arrests for driving under the influence during the weekend of August 20-22.
