On August 20, at 10:52 pm, officers of the Riverside Police Department responded to a major injury traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on West La Cadena Drive north of Interchange Street. There was one fatality

A 1996 Dodge Ram pick-up truck was traveling northbound on West La Cadena Drive when the pedestrian, who was standing in the northbound lane, was struck by the pick-up truck. The pedestrian, 56, was transported by AMR ambulance to Riverside Community Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Members of the Riverside Police Departments Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) responded and the collision is under investigation. Anyone with further information is asked to call Detective Joe Avila at (951) 353-7985.
