Alvarez dealership in Riverside Auto Center adds ZAP vehicles

Riverside’s Alvarez Lincoln Mercury is adding a new vehicle to its showroom.

Alvarez becomes the first Riverside-based dealer for the ZAP car. ZAP vehicles are small cars and trucks, the dealership adds the new product, officially, on Thursday.

The City of Riverside is one of its first customers; purchasing several ZAP vehicles for its fleet.

ZAP vehicles are electric. The product line includes the Xebra Sedan, Xebra Truck (pictured), Xebra Truck Solar, ZAPTRUCK XL, and the ZAPVAN SHUTTLE.

The Xebra model (pictured left) seats up to 4 people, and uses a lead acid battery. It’s technically classified as a 3-wheel motorcycle which produces no emissions.

The Xebra weighs 2,805 pounds, and sells for $11,700, according to the ZAP website.
