The Riverside Police Department conducted a DUI/Drivers License Checkpoint on Friday, July 30. This checkpoint was one of many that have been or will be conducted throughout the year in Riverside.
Friday’s checkpoint was on Van Buren Boulevard at Garfield Street. The goal was to remove impaired drivers and increase awareness about the dangers of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
1395 Vehicles Passed Through the Checkpoint
1355 Drivers Screened
1 DUI Suspect Arrested
1 Drug Possession Arrest
89 Citations Issued
46 Vehicles Impounded
49 Unlicensed and Suspended Drivers Sent to Court
The checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
