The Redlands Emergency Services Academy is holding its 11th annual hands-on training course for high school graduates interested in a career in emergency services.

Each year, about two-dozen local teens interested in a public safety career spend a week at the Redlands Emergency Services Academy (RESA) held at the University of Redlands. The students participate in various hands-on training exercises that include police field simulations, instruction on firefighter safety, and search and rescue techniques.

The course also includes instruction in public safety ethics and career pathways.  RESA graduates have gone on to careers in emergency services, a number of them hired by the Redlands Police and Fire Departments.
