Electric vault explodes; causing closure of La Sierra and Hole Avenues

A hole has opened up in the street at La Sierra Avenue, and the intersection of Hole Avenue. It’s described as roughly 8 feet in size, according to the Riverside Fire Department.

La Sierra Avenue is being shut down along with other streets in the area. The opening appears to have been caused by the explosion of an underground power vault.  Traffic is also being blocked at Hole Avenue and Wells.

The problem was reported at 4:10 p.m. Saturday.
