Ken McTaggert died in a skydiving accident on July 18 in Perris. The Riverside County Coroner reports that McTaggert suffered injuries from a hard landing. The accident happened at 2:47 p.m., he was airlifted to a hospital in Lake Elsinore, where he died at 7:55 p.m. the same day.
McTaggert, 44, of Canyon Lake, was from Seneca, South Carolina. He was a certified rigger, sky diving instructor and professional photographer, according to family members.
In addition to his parents, Mr. McTaggart is survived by son, Curran McTaggart and daughter, Savannah McTaggart, both of California. His brother, Gregory McTaggart and wife, Nga, and nephews, Hunter and Sean live in Lowell, North Carolina.
A memorial service will be held in Perris, the family has not announced a date.
