Earl Robert “Bob” Kerr (85) passed away on May 22, 2010 at his residence in Canyon Lake, California surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born in Lafayette, Indiana and has lived in Canyon Lake for the past 42 years.
Prior to that, he lived and raised his family in the Burbank area of California. In Burbank and Glendale, Bob and his wife Mavis owned two fabric stores named “Kerr’s Yardage,” which they had for about twenty five years from 1950 until 1975.
Bob was always a very outgoing person, and he never met a stranger. His great personality carried into his work as a salesman for S&H Greenstamps, where he won a boat for being the top 6th salesman in the entire United States. That prize led Bob to research where he could use his new boat, and he ended up finding Lake Elsinore and eventually Canyon Lake.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Mavis Kerr; his daughter and son-in-law Kathleen & Jim Santangelo; his 3 grandchildren Gary, Katie, and Jennie; his 8 great-grandchildren Jenna, Nick, Garrison, Harley, Samantha, DJ, Luke, and Jacob; and his 4 remaining siblings of his parents 7 children, Norma Davis, Pete Kerr, Harry Kerr, and Edward Kerr.
A Celebration of Bob’s life will occur on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 3:00PM at the Evans - Brown Sun City Chapel. Evans Brown Mortuary (951) 679-1114
