Last year Riverside Public Utilities sent all city power customers CFL lights. It was an effort to encourage people to use the newest generation of energy efficient lighting.
Modern CFL’s produce just as much light as traditional light bulbs, but use significant less power, and produce less heat.
There’s a new technology you’ll be seeing growing in popularity; LED lights. For many years LED lights struggled to produce a white light that appeared natural, the type of light people were accostomed to seeing from a bulb.
Today LED lights hold the promise of becoming the new standard. Incredibly they produce even less heat, and use less power than CFL lights. You can see for yourself by watching the video on the right.
