The Riverside International Film Festival will hold an opening night gala at the Fox Performing Arts Center on April 16.
The event is enjoying its 8th year in Riverside. Friday’s reception will include a movie screening, and will include special guests Ann Rutherford and Anne Jeffreys.
The actresses will be honored with awards for their work. Rutherford has enjoyed success in movies and on the Bob Newhart Show. Locally she is notable for her role as Carreen O’Hara, in Gone with the Wind, which was originally screened at Riverside’s Fox in 1939.
Anne Jeffreys starred in La Boheme in 1940, and I married an Angel in 1942.
The event begins at 6:00 p.m. at the Fox Performing Arts Center, and includes a champagne reception. Tickets are $50 per person, and can be purchased by calling 951-781-8263.
April 16 also marks the start of the 2010 Riverside International Film Festival, which will include 90 independent films. The theme of the event is “Experience the World in 10 Days,” the movies are from directors worldwide.
