Riverside DUI patrols added for New Year’s Eve

Since launching its stepped-up DUI campaign, the Riverside Police Department reports 262 arrests between December 18 and midnight December 30.  The arrest numbers come from thirty Inland Empire policing agencies.

During this same time last year, there were 524 total DUI arrests, according to the Riverside Police Department.  Three people were killed in DUI collisions during this time last year.

Local DUI Saturation Patrols will be continuing countywide with checkpoints being held in Hemet, Indian Wells, Menifee, Lake Elsinore, and La Quinta through the New Years weekend. All CHP Areas throughout the state will have increased staffing for the remainder of the holiday season.
