Real leaders are good stewards of Riverside’s future. As Mayor, I take pride in my role in the City’s many successes.

Unlike our State, Riverside has a balanced, on-time budget with a $40+ million rainy day fund. We will continue to fund City priorities, and provide consistent, high quality services.  Recently we’ve added 18 firefighters, 39 police officers, and five new fire stations, lowering crime rates, reducing response times, and diminishing gang activity.

As Mayor, I have an open door policy, inside and outside of City Hall. I’m especially proud of Mayor’s Night Out, 143 monthly visits to the City’s 26 neighborhoods.

Riverside Renaissance continues to create more jobs, improve streets and expand our parks and libraries. We are upgrading our municipal utility systems, ensuring a reliable, affordable supply of electricity and safe water.

Recognized for our sound environmental policies, we’re a clean and green city, named the California Department of Conservation’s first Emerald City.

No wonder RelocateAmerica named Riverside one of America’s top 100 cities for 2009. The next four years offer our great City an unparalleled opportunity to realize my most cherished goals: safe streets, good jobs, great neighborhoods.

I respectfully ask for your vote on November 3.
