News headline: regarding death of two Southern California firefighters–
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger today issued the following statement regarding the deaths of Los Angeles County Fire Captain Tedmund “Ted” Hall, of San Bernadino County, and Firefighter Specialist Arnaldo “Arnie” Quinones, of Palmdale:
“Fire Captain Ted Hall and Fire Specialist Arnie Quinones were extraordinary California heroes who worked tirelessly to protect our communities. Maria and I join all Californians in expressing our appreciation for their courageous efforts and sacrifice. They will be forever remembered by the people of California for their selfless and heroic work.”
Both died while battling the Station fire in Los Angeles County. Hall, (pictured left) 47, was a 26-year veteran of the Los Angeles County Fire Department and Quinones, (pictured right) 35, was an eight-year veteran of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
In honor of Fire Captain Hall and Fire Specialist Quinones, Capitol flags will be flown at half-staff.
