SWAT team called to home in Wood Streets

magbandiniarea.jpg Riverside police were involved in a standoff with a man in the 5300 block of Magnolia Avenue that started late Thursday afternoon and ended shortly before midnight.

It’s unclear what led to the situation, which was preceded by a police attempt to contact Jesse Adam Moore. Moore was in a two-story house near Elmwood Court and Oakwood Place, according to police.

Riversider Mindy Moore was shocked by what she saw, asking in an e-mail, “What’s going on in the Wood Streets — on Magnolia between Bandini and Elmwood? The SWAT team has responded — streets closed.”

Lt. Chuck Griffiths of the Riverside Police Department said the suspect was wanted in connection with undisclosed felony charges.

As of 9 p.m., police SWAT-team members were communicating with Moore via telephone after he refused to leave the house.

At 11:07 p.m., another comment came in to InstantRiverside.com: “Several shots fired. I heard them from my home on Linwood.” The neighbor did not disclose their identity. There was no conformation as to whether shots were fired.

Neighbors said an armored-looking SWAT vehicle was in the driveway of the home, but no nearby houses had been evacuated.

If you live on Oakwood, good luck parking or even driving down the street. Have not heard any shots fired.
