Leon Vogel 90, of Murrieta, died peacefully on March 28th with family at his side.

An Illinois native and the 3rd of 11 children born to Henry and Mary Berenice Vogel. Leon was a printer, mail carrier, Navy veteran, and above all, a family man.

He leaves behind Norma, his wife of 68 years, two children, in-laws, 4 grandsons and 2 great-grandsons, all of whom were inspired by his passion for living.

Leon was a horseman, accomplished musician, renowned gardener and faithful servant in his church, passionate about feeding the poor.

Visitation scheduled Tuesday, March 31, 2009 from 5-8PM at Murrieta Valley Funeral Home. A mass will be celebrated Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at 11:30AM at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Temecula, interment to follow at Riverside National Cemetery.
