DUI warrant sweep in Palm Desert

The following information has been provided by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department:

On February 28, officers of the Palm Desert Police Traffic Team conducted a DUI Warrant Sweep at various locations in Palm Desert. Officers attempted to serve seventy-eight active arrest warrants.  The purpose of this program was to apprehend local residents with active warrants for driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

During the eight-hour operation, fifteen individuals were arrested for outstanding felony and misdemeanor DUI warrants.

Those subjects were booked into the Indio Jail.

Steven Stroud, 44 of Palm Desert                Robert Hourigan, 70 of Palm Desert
Caroline Degraeve, 32 of Palm Desert         John McCarthy, 31 of Palm Desert
Javier Lindero, 26 of Palm Desert             Vanessa Sikorski, 33 of Palm Desert
Matthew Mroczka, 28 of Palm Desert

Funding for this operation was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The grant provides funding to staff warrant sweeps at various times throughout the year to target DUI offenders who violate probation terms or fail to appear in court when arrested for DUI.
