DUI checkpoint results

The following information has been provided by the Riverside Police Department:

On Friday, January 30, 2009, the Riverside Police Department conducted a DUI/Drivers License checkpoint on Alessandro
Boulevard east of Vista Grande in the City of Riverside.

The checkpoint was in operation between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m.; more than 2202 vehicles drove through the checkpoint. There were three 3 subjects arrested for DUI, fifty-three citations were issued, and thirty-seven vehicles were impounded.

Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
