In early 1986, my world was rocked by a wild event. The band Wham! called it splits, and I learned the news on the radio. Since I’m a hometown guy, I was listening to KGGI. I don’t remember who the DJ was, but I can still hear his voice.
KGGI-FM is an institution across the Inland Empire. Even if you don’t buy and download the music they play, you certainly know the call letters.
When the last radio ratings were released, the station retained its top rank. There’s a reason for its success, and it seems it’s not about buying more billboards than the competition.
